Hi! I’m Jack, a Biomedical Science graduate with a big love for all things biology. I know from experience that science can sometimes feel tricky or even a bit boring—but it doesn’t have to be! I’ve always enjoyed helping others understand things in a way that actually makes sense, and that’s exactly why I started tutoring. As a Biomedical Science graduate, my tutoring approach combines a strong academic foundation with a student-centered, practical teaching style. I focus on breaking down complex biological concepts into simple, relatable explanations, using real-world examples and exam-focused strategies to help students grasp key material and retain it effectively.

Teaching Methodology
Exam-focused preparation: I place a strong emphasis on past papers, marking schemes, and common question trends, ensuring students are confident in tackling exam-style questions.

Active learning techniques: Lessons include diagrams, recall games, and interactive questioning to reinforce memory and encourage critical thinking.

Individualised support: I tailor each lesson to the student's strengths and weaknesses, ensuring a personalised learning plan that supports their pace and goals.

Study techniques: I also guide students on how to revise smarter, offering tools like flashcards, active recall, and spaced repetition to enhance their independent study habits.

Lesson Length
Typical sessions last 60 minutes, with options for 90-minute slots for more intensive support (e.g. revision grinds or exam crash courses).

Lessons include short recap quizzes, detailed explanations, and exam question practice in each session.

Qualifications and Experience
I hold a BSc in Biomedical Science, giving me a solid foundation in biology and human systems—key components of both the Junior Cert and Leaving Cert syllabi.

I’ve worked with students across different levels of ability, and I understand how to adapt lessons for visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learners.

My academic background also enables me to offer deeper insight into more advanced biology topics where needed, particularly for Leaving Cert students aiming for high grades or considering science degrees.
