In order to go through an average lesson, I believe 45 minutes to an hour would be ideal. Any more than this I personally found it was too much cramming, my methods are based on how the student will best retain information. I have experience of tutoring secondary school and A-level/ BTEC science students. Helping them with content of information and also support with any assignments, guiding students to understand and complete these.
