About Minty

Hi there!

My name is Minty, I'm 24, I'm from the UK and I have a Masters degree in Global Health from Karolinska Institutet and a Bachelor degree in Biomedical Science from King's College London.

Throughout the past couple of years, I have lived in different countries across the world. I completed an exchange year in 2016/17 in Melbourne, Australia at the University of Melbourne and in 2019/20 I completed my Masters in Stockholm, Sweden.

In terms of employment, I worked 6 months as an Assistant Data Manager and 1 year as a Health Advisor back in the UK. Currently I am working at a Ski Resort as a Winter Season Guest Representative. It certainly is a fresh of breath air in terms of my role and location.

During my academic years, I have always had a passion for Biology and I'm more than willing to share this as a tutor.

As the pandemic hit, I tutored over one year in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, History and English for a student in middle school who was transitioning into high school back in the UK and I enjoyed every second of supporting their development.

As a final year college student, I also tutored a first year student of Biomedical Science in order to support their advancement through differing modules of the course as well as college life.

My experiences have left me open minded and ever-more keen on helping people reach their full potential.

About the lesson

As a tutor, I am very patient, understanding and I enjoy helping people understand difficult concepts by explaining them in versatile ways, using different tools to help them visualise the concept.

My teaching methodology includes first outlining the most challenging topics of a course for the student at the very start of tutoring to guide lesson plans of the future.

Then, during each lesson we would tackle these difficult concepts head on whilst always linking them back to revision of other aspects of the course. This will help you build an interconnected and specific understanding so that you can reach your potential in Biology.

Each lesson would be tailored around the student depending on the methods of learning which works best for them, though will include interactive exercises using materials online, using drawings and diagrams for explanations, completing homework, quizzes, reading text and breaking it down into understandable components and for those learning at a more advanced level delving into research papers.
