Hello! My name is Irem and I have completed a BSc in Biomedical Sciences at University of Edinburgh and MSc in Neuroscience specializing in stem cells and regenerative medicine at King's College London. I’m currently pursuing my PhD based on the mechanobiology of neurogenesis at the University of Nottingham. I have always wanted to help the younger and curious generation further understand biology.
I believe that having a great tutor is essential for igniting interest in a particular topic, especially if it could potentially become one's future career.
My experience in tutoring started in university as part of peer teaching team, where we worked with small class of students monthly for the whole two academic years. Furthermore, I was able to tutor university students in various fields of biology during my PhD. I have completed A levels in Biology, Chemistry and Maths as well as Physics in As-Level.
At the start of every session, we'll tackle past paper questions that pinpoint specific areas needing improvement. By doing this, we'll gauge enhancements in the student's knowledge, comprehension, and self-assurance. This approach aims to bolster confidence, understanding, and exam strategies simultaneously.
As a highly motivated individual with a deep grasp of science and exceptional communication abilities, I am confident that these skills will enable me to tailor my teaching to each student's requirements and concentrate on areas where they require assistance.
As a person who has walked the same path I believe I will be able to provide the needed support. With a strong motivation and deep knowledge of science, coupled with excellent communication skills, I am confident that I can adapt to the unique needs of each student and provide focused assistance in areas where they require help.
