About Jwana

Every hour in life, there are hundreds and thousands of choices to be made, from when to wake up to how our actions will affect our career choices. I’ve always had the feeling that each decision I make contributes to my future somehow, and I think that this can be significantly applied in the field of medicine. From an early age, I have always been interested in how the human body works and am constantly amazed by the mechanics and challenges that the body brings. I had a passion for science courses, specifically biology, from a young age, as my grandmother used to be a biology teacher, and I really enjoyed reading and looking through her textbooks when I was a child. She is the person who first introduced me to the world of natural sciences and inspired me to further explore that field of study. Since then, I have always wanted to further my knowledge of all things biological.
While undertaking my biology A-level, I discovered that I am most interested in cellular and human biology. I am fascinated by the way cells and the body function. I wish to take this course to enable me to develop scientific skills that will provide me with a greater understanding of the body and the factors that affect it.

About the lesson

I am a determined and hardworking person; I always strive to achieve my full potential. All my subjects have involved independent study at university, which means I will be prepared for the style of work that medical school will expect of me. I am a resourceful and resilient person, and I am proud of the way I have developed as a student. My high attendance shows that I am a reliable and dedicated student. I am a very outgoing and friendly person. I love to meet new people and make friends. I am also a very trustworthy person and someone who helps if there is a problem. My hobbies include music, I have learned to play the piano (where I earned a grade 3) and taught myself the violin. I am also a keen singer. I attend music festivals and concerts and enjoy socializing with my friends. I also like sports. By modeling my own passion for learning, I hope to inspire my students to do the same. I believe that teaching and learning should be established in a constructivist manner. Collaboration and active learning are central concepts in my philosophy of education. In my everyday interactions with students, I strive to model these behaviors.
