About Justin
I have a Master's degree in Chemistry (State University of New York - University at Buffalo) and Biomedical Engineering (University of Montreal). In addition, I have 2+ years of teaching experience with students from various language backgrounds and ages.
As a teacher, I often see myself as a motivator. My job is to motivate my students and help them to realize their potential. I have always believe that all students are teachable and capable of high level achievement, when they enjoy learning the subject whether is chemistry or math. The most rewarding experience in teaching is to see my student's reaction when he/she finally understood the subject. I called it the "aha" moment.
If you find yourself struggling with chemistry or math, trust me you are not alone. All of us have been through this pain or struggle. Do not let anyone tell you that you are terrible at chem or math. You just need someone to bring out that potential in you and that someone could be me : )

My approach to teaching has a central focus on student-centered learning which emphasizes each student's interests, abilities, and learning styles. I always strive to engage my students with fun and creative materials that will excite them about the subject (chemistry/math). If you are interested in cancer or neuroscience, I can share with you my experience working with cells and animal models.
My goal is to help my students to understand complex topics by breaking down those topics into small and digestible chunks. I strive to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions.
I usually tailor the lesson plan based on each student. If you are struggling with chemistry or math, do not hesitate to ask for help. I know it is hard and you are not alone in this. I can help you to understand complex topics or assignment/homework questions.
