About Indigo

From a young age I have always been driven by curiosity — a love of understanding how things work and why — and mathematics and science have been at the center of that curiosity my entire life.
That passion is what draws me to tutoring. There is nothing quite like the moment a concept finally clicks for someone, and being the person who helps make that happen is genuinely rewarding to me. I do not just want to get students through an exam — I want them to walk away actually excited by the subject, the way I am.
I have maintained straight A's throughout my entire academic career and was selected to tutor math through my high school's official peer-tutoring program, which gave me my first real taste of teaching and confirmed that it was something I wanted to keep doing.
Outside of study, I am someone who genuinely enjoys connecting with people and adapting to different personalities and learning styles. I believe a good tutor is not just knowledgeable but they are patient, encouraging, and able to meet a student exactly where they are.


About the lesson

I am a second-year Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering student at the University of Queensland, with a lifelong record of straight A's and an ACT score of 33 — equivalent to an ATAR of 98. I have a genuine passion for mathematics and science, and I take pride in helping students not just memorize content, but truly understand it.
My tutoring experience began in high school, where I was selected to tutor fellow students in mathematics through an official school peer-tutoring program. That experience shaped the way I teach: I focus on diagnosing exactly where a student is getting stuck, then rebuilding their understanding from the ground up using clear, step-by-step explanations tailored to how they learn best.
My approach:
Sessions are structured but flexible. I typically begin by reviewing any recent classwork or areas of difficulty, then work through concepts together before setting practice problems to reinforce understanding. I adapt my pace and style to each student — some need slower, more visual explanations, while others benefit from working through lots of exam-style questions quickly.
Who I teach:
My lessons are open to students of all ages and levels. Whether you are a primary school student building foundational math skills, a high school student working through Years 7–12 content, or a university student needing support with first or second year engineering, math, physics, or science subjects — I am confident in my ability to pitch my teaching at the right level and make the content click.
Lesson length:
Sessions are typically 60 to 90 minutes, though shorter or longer sessions can be arranged to suit individual needs.
