About Katie
MSc Chemistry from University of Otago supports my 3 years of teaching experience. I have taught 9.0 out of 10 in terms of effective student guidance for NCEA levels 1 to 3 biology. Science makes sense. I cover DNA and RNA structure, scientific method, immunology basics, the nervous system, genetics and inheritance, plant biology, evolution and natural selection, protein synthesis, mitosis and meiosis, and physiology.

"Confusion regarding complex biological processes often stops students from achieving top grades. Dealing with these concepts requires moving past rote memorization toward understanding core scientific reasoning.
My lessons use my MSc Chemistry background to clarify how life systems function. You will engage with challenging topics like protein synthesis or the nervous system through clear logical steps. This approach builds the solid foundation needed for University Entrance requirements. Success in biology comes from thinking clearly about how these diverse natural systems actually work."
