My Teaching Methodology & Approach:
I believe that biology should never be taught as a list of isolated facts or boring bullet points. Instead, I teach biology as one massive, interconnected ecosystem where everything links together.
My core philosophy is to build curiosity first. I always start a new topic by stripping away the heavy jargon and explaining the core concept in very simple terms, using real-life analogies and relatable metaphors to capture the student's interest. Once they intuitively "get" the concept, we expand on that foundation by placing the correct, proper scientific keywords exactly where they belong and linking them back to other biological systems. To keep lessons lively and deeply engaging, I frequently share interesting pieces of biological trivia so students feel a genuine, real-world connection to what they are learning.
A Typical Lesson Plan:
My lessons are structured to take a student from zero familiarity to deep, exam-ready mastery:
The Hook & Core Concept (15 Minutes): We introduce the day's topic using simple everyday analogies, metaphors, and fascinating trivia. The goal here is pure engagement—making the concept relatable before diving into complex textbooks.
The Deep Dive & Vocabulary (20 Minutes): Once the student understands the big picture, we layer in the proper scientific terminology. We place the necessary exam keywords into our concept framework so they understand exactly how to use them.
The Ecosystem Link (10 Minutes): We actively connect the new topic to previously learned chapters, showing the student how this new system interacts with the broader "ecosystem" of biology.
The Exam Application (15 Minutes): We practice decoding real exam questions, ensuring the student knows how to deploy their newly learned keywords to secure maximum marks.
