About Stephanie Nkeiruka
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Science and a Masters Degree in Genomic Medicine Graduate. I currently work in the pharmaceutical industry.
I am a new tutor looking to use my biology knowledge and understanding to help students achieve high grades. My tutoring approach would be to know understand what the examination board requires a student to know and answer to get specific grades.
Next I would get an understanding of what the student knows and understands by using a range of biology questions. Then ask the student to take a small quiz to understand their learning style.
I would then tailor my lessons to fill in the gaps using the learning style best suited for the student. I would provide study tips and techniques that have allowed me to score well. I would give the student time to ask questions
From my experience of studying science at higher levels. I have learnt the following:
understanding the fundamentals of the science is key; as you can work things out by knowing the foundations.
Knowing what study technique works for you is important because it allows you your learn in a way best suited to you.
Understanding what the examination board requires is essential as you are able to study in a targeted way.
By applying these principles, I have gone on to consistently improve my grades and helped others do the same.
