About Namitha

Hello! I'm Namitha, a recent Virginia Commonwealth University graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. With a strong academic foundation and extensive experience in clinical research and tutoring, I bring both scientific expertise and real-world perspective to my sessions. I believe I am skilled at making challenging biology topics accessible and relevant to everyday life. I understand the pressures students face because I've been there myself. I approach every session with patience, encouragement, and a judgment-free attitude. I'm excited to help you not only succeed in biology but also discover why the life sciences are so fascinating. Let's work together to achieve your academic goals!

About the lesson

I'm Namitha, and I believe that biology becomes fascinating when students can connect scientific concepts to the world around them. I incorporate visual learning tools, real-life analogies, and interactive questioning to keep students engaged and thinking critically rather than just memorizing facts. I help students build a framework for thinking about biology logically. A typical lesson plan will be as follows:

1) Review (5-10 min): Quick recap of previous material and address any lingering questions. Review any practice materials provided the week prior.

2) New concept introduction (15-20 min): Present new topic using clear explanations and visuals

3) Guided practice (15-20 min): Work through examples together, encouraging student participation

4) Independent application (10-15 min): Student attempts problems while I provide support as needed

5) Summary & next steps (5 min): Recap key takeaways and preview upcoming material. Check-in time to see how I can better support your goals!
