About Holdyn
Hi! My name is Holdyn! I'm currently a Biology student at Southern Utah University, working toward my bachelor's degree with the goal of attending veterinary school! I've always had a passion for science, learning, and helping others succeed academically.
I currently work as a STEM tutor through Southern Utah University, where I help middle and high school students with math, science, and other challenging subjects. Through this experience, I've discovered how much I enjoy helping students understand difficult concepts and watching their confidence grow as things start to click!
Outside of school and tutoring, I love spending time outdoors, riding and rodeo with my horses, hiking, camping, and spending time with family and friends. Growing up with a variety of experiences has taught me the importance of patience, adaptability, and hard work, which are qualities I bring into my tutoring.
I'm a firm believer that everyone is capable of learning and succeeding with the right encouragement and support. I strive to be approachable, patient, and understanding, and I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions without worrying about making mistakes.
I'm excited to help students reach their academic goals while hopefully making learning a little more enjoyable along the way!

I believe that every student learns differently, and my goal is to help each student find a way of learning that works best for them! I strive to create a positive, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.
My lessons are personalized to each student's needs, whether that means reviewing difficult concepts, working through homework assignments, preparing for exams, or building confidence in a particular subject. I like to break complicated topics into smaller, easier-to-understand steps and use examples and practice problems to help students fully understand the material.
As a Biology student at Southern Utah University and a STEM tutor working with middle and high school students, I have experience helping students with a variety of math and science subjects.
My goal isn't just to help students get the right answers, but to help them understand why those answers are correct so they can become more confident and independent learners!
