In addition to teaching college courses and substitute teaching, I have mentored high school students and teachers in laboratory settings. I have experience with classes with up to 35 students as well as teaching one-on-one and in small groups.

I received my PhD in Human Genetics from the Molecular Biology Program at the University of Utah. I am currently in an online post-grad certification program from Johns Hopkins in Genomics & Sequence Analysis. My undergrad BS is from Juniata College - I had a double major in Biology and Psychology. I have taught at the college level for more than 10 years and am a substitute teacher in the Granite school district. I try to tailor lessons to the individual student & use current events/trends/etc as a basis to help illustrate the applications of biological knowledge
