About Émilie
My fascination with living systems began early in life and motivated me to pursue a B.Sc in Biology and an M.Sc in Molecular Biology, providing a strong foundation in both theoretical and practical aspects of life sciences. Over 8 years of teaching, I have guided students at various levels, helping them connect complex biological concepts to observable phenomena while nurturing curiosity, analytical thinking, and confidence in problem-solving. My approach focuses on clarity, patience, and tailored support to ensure each student feels capable and encouraged.
I emphasise interactive, student-centred learning by combining visual explanations, real-life examples, and hands-on exercises. I encourage students to ask questions, think independently, and engage with material actively. Lessons are structured to balance theory, practical application, and reasoning exercises, allowing learners to develop both understanding and confidence over time.
Beyond teaching, I stay informed about the latest research in genetics, molecular biology, and ecology, integrating contemporary examples into lessons to make them relevant and engaging. Watching students grow from hesitant learners to confident thinkers who understand and appreciate biology deeply is incredibly rewarding. Biology is a subject that comes alive when students can see the connections between living systems, their environments, and daily life. My lessons cover cell biology, genetics, physiology, ecology, evolution, and environmental science, explained in clear, simple language that is easy to understand. I use diagrams, real-life examples, and interactive discussions to ensure students grasp concepts deeply rather than just memorising facts. Each session encourages curiosity, observation, and analytical thinking, allowing learners to engage fully with the subject and understand its relevance to the world around them.
Lessons are tailored to each student’s level. Beginners focus on foundational topics such as cell structure, plant and animal systems, and basic ecological interactions. Intermediate learners explore molecular biology, DNA processes, biochemical pathways, and lab-based experiments. Advanced students tackle experimental design, data interpretation, research analysis, and applied biology questions. Step-by-step exercises, reasoning support, and guided practice help students steadily build competence, confidence, and critical thinking skills.
