About Jemima
Hi!
I'm Jem, a First Class Biology Graduate from the University of York, who specialised in Molecular Cell Biology.
I enjoyed studying sciences during GCSEs and Biology at A level, but I get that they are very content-heavy subjects and it's easy for tricky topics to slip through the cracks! I also understand that its hard to get specific help in classroom settings.
Therefore, I love to help students understand and contextualise difficult scientific concepts in a one-on-one environment.
I have experience tutoring online and am DBS certified (Oct 2023).

VIRTUAL TUTORING: I provide a low-stress, online tutoring service to A level Biology and GCSE Science students.
Clear communication is essential for learning so I always begin teaching with a familiarisation session where we can check through the whole syllabus to find problem areas. During the following sessions I cover practise questions, revision techniques and topic content, depending on each student's specific requirements. My sessions can be flexible to fit the student's schedule but typically last one hour.
My main focus is to keep the session relaxed and interactive, to reduce exam stress and so students can raise questions without anxiety that they may feel in class.
