About Sera
I have 9 years of experience teaching biology to students ranging from high school to undergraduate preparation. I hold a B.Sc in Biotechnology and an M.Sc in Cellular Biology, equipping me with deep knowledge of molecular mechanisms and environmental systems. This foundation allows me to explain complex ideas in an accessible and engaging way, fostering both understanding and interest.
My teaching philosophy prioritises active participation, clarity, and individualised support. I use visual aids, practical experiments, and analytical discussions to ensure students grasp challenging concepts while developing critical thinking skills. Lessons are designed to build confidence and intellectual curiosity simultaneously.
Outside of teaching, I remain engaged with research in molecular biology, genetics, and ecology, integrating current scientific developments into my lessons. Seeing students progress from tentative learners to confident thinkers is incredibly rewarding. Supporting learners to cultivate mastery and curiosity in biology is the most fulfilling part of my work.

Biology comes alive when students see the connections between cells, organisms, and ecosystems. My lessons cover cellular biology, molecular genetics, physiology, evolution, and ecological interactions. I emphasise conceptual clarity, using visual models, interactive experiments, and real-world examples to make abstract ideas tangible. Each lesson is structured to spark curiosity, strengthen analytical thinking, and develop problem-solving skills, while allowing students to explore at their own pace in a supportive environment.
Lessons are tailored to the learner’s experience level. Beginners focus on basic cell structure, DNA/RNA fundamentals, and simple ecological concepts. Intermediate learners delve into molecular pathways, physiological systems, and population dynamics. Advanced learners study genomics, ecological modelling, experimental design, and data interpretation. Each session combines guided exercises, discussion, and conceptual explanation to build mastery and confidence.
Beyond content knowledge, biology lessons cultivate reasoning, observation, and investigative skills. Students learn to analyse experimental data, form hypotheses, and connect theory to real-life scenarios. My goal is to help learners become not only academically competent but also curious and confident thinkers capable of understanding life in all its complexity.
