Freddie is a respected tutor in our community. He is highly recommended for his commitment and the quality of his lessons. An excellent choice to progress with confidence.
About Freddie
I have helped three students with A-level Biology revision (2020).
I have helped other Biology graduates with statistical, theoretical and written work whilst studying at the University of Sheffield.
I tutored a student who was preparing for GCSE maths - they achieved an A*.
I taught a student who had only ever taken classical grades (up to grade 3) the basics of jazz piano.

Biology tutorials can be given to anybody studying up to and including the level of graduate - I have a 1st class masters in Biology from the University of Sheffield where i specialised in genetics.
I also have previous experience in GCSE maths tutoring - I have an A in mathematics with mechanics A-level.
I can provide beginner jazz piano lessons - I have performed as a self-employed jazz pianist for social functions for several years. (Ideally piano students have had some rudimentary/classical training prior to our tutorials).

I am currently a PhD student at Simon Fraser University studying evolutionary biology. Freddie tutored me in statistics during my final master of research (MRes) year at the University of Sheffield, 2016-2017, whilst remaining my closest friend for the past five years.
Throughout my undergraduate and masters, it was apparent that I would struggle with the statistical elements of the course due to the nature of my dyslexia. Attempting to follow and understand complex instructions in statistical modules whilst simultaneously performing tasks with statistical coding software (e.g. R studio) was an almost impossible task for me. After having voiced my concerns to Freddie, he offered to sit down with me each night after a workshop and take me through everything covered in the class, simplifying the tasks down and giving consistent examples and walkthroughs on how to attain the desired result. I achieved a first class mark for the module; an achievement that absolutely would not have been attained if not for Fred. His unwavering support and guidance did not end at the conclusion of this module, however, as Fred continued to advise and consult on the statistical elements of my final year research project, to which I attained a high mark that, again, would not have been achieved without his generous tuition.
Almost three years after the completion of my masters, and despite my residency now in Canada, Fred uses his own experience with his PhD (which he started two years before me) to provide me with statistical information and advice pertinent to my PhD. This astounding support all came from his willingness to accept and understand my own struggles three years ago, whilst possessing an inherent desire to help people in whatever way he can. There has never been a time where he has left a question unanswered or given lack-lustered advice; I am undoubtedly a better student, scientist and person because of Fred’s guidance and friendship.
I cannot overstate my recommendation for Fred as a tutor. He is extremely intelligent whilst possessing prodigious social skills; a combination meaning he can understand and grasp the most difficult concepts and problems whilst being able communicate them in an elegant and simplistic manner. Despite Fred’s overwhelming display of favorable characteristics, he is chiefly the most fun person I know; he would doubtlessly achieve that seemingly unattainable combination of fun and learning, time and time again.Freddie tutored my son in Mathematics and Science during his GCSE years.
Freddie engaged extremely well with my son and was always pupil focused in his tutoring. My son enjoyed his sessions with Freddie and the tutoring certainly helped my son to consolidate his skills and improve his grades. It also helped my son gain confidence in the subjects and develop a real interest in them which formed the basis for his A level choices.
Freddie facilitated the tutoring sessions in our home and he was always extremely polite, punctual, and courteous. He had an excellent manner with my son and his integrity is unquestionable.
Freddie is a excellent tutor and I would no hesitation in recommending him.View more recommendations
