About Tyler
I am a science educator with 6 years of college and university level teaching experience. I have taught methods courses, basic statistics, anatomy, evolution, animal diversity and genetics, mostly in lab settings. My research has mostly focused on fishes, familiar (trout) and exotic (weakly electric elephant-nosed fish).

I work with my students to build confidence and skills to help them become better learners. I use illustrations, simulations, and design interactive web apps to visualize challenging concepts. I also develop pneumonic devices and dive into the Latin/Greek roots of “science” words to help students memorize and understand molecular pathways and anatomy. Over the past 3 years, I have developed a set of teaching resources to help students conduct research, read scientific literature, and write excellent reports and papers. I can teach you to become a more efficient reader and writer!
