About Maya
I am due to enter my third and final year studying biology at Imperial College London. Thus far, I have achieved straight A*s at GCSE level and 41 points in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (an A-Level equivalent qualification). I have six months of experience teaching students up to year 9, working as a tuition assistant for large groups. In sixth form, I also mentored students one-on-one in subjects ranging from biology and chemistry, to English and sociology, up to GCSE level. I also worked as a self employed tutor for 4 years, leading sessions primarily in person and adapting to online learning in more recent months.

My teaching method is largely flexible and adapted to the needs of the student. I take a patient approach and break down concepts into simple explanations, before building up detail in the appropriate context. Having recently left school, I am still well equipped to understand and appreciate the teaching methodologies employed in secondary schools. Further to this, I can offer guidance for approaching both short and long term revision.
