About Luke
I am enthusiastic about biodiversity conservation research, which encouraged me to enrol at the University of the Western Cape to study towards a BSc, Honours and Masters Degree in Biodiversity and Conservation Biology. I gained quite a bit of teaching experience during my studies, by tutoring Life Sciences courses to undergraduate students for three years as well as presenting my postgraduate research at a number of conferences.
My collective work experience has been beneficial by providing me with skills in scientific research and writing, as well as the ability to evaluate and address issues at hand pro-actively. I am very enthusiastic to continue developing my experience in education to help make a positive impact on the student's learning experience.

The methodology I use in my lessons is based on understanding the needs of the student and adjusting the style of the lesson plan accordingly.
I teach my lessons in English and a typical lesson would start of with reviewing the course outline for the day and give background information and examples before allowing the student to complete the assignments.
My lessons are generally aimed at beginner and intermediate levels.
