About Sophie
I am currently in my penultimate year studying Biochemistry BSc at the University of Bristol. A proficiency in maths, biology and chemistry is essential for my degree. I have previously had 6 months experience tutoring students taking IGCSE maths and have had positive feedback from all the students.

My teaching method is highly personal to the student - I tailor my lessons and recourses based on their needs and confidence levels. I am normally hired to cover specific topics the student is struggling with.
Generally,
1. I go through an example question with the student -writing out each step clearly and precisely.
2. I give a similar question to the student to attempt on their own, offering guidance when prompted. I have found this is a good way to test the student's capabilities whilst also building their confidence.
3. Then, we go through progressively harder questions.
I try to get the student to tackle as much as they can on their own. They should always attempt the question before I give them the answer. I act as a helping hand to guide them to the write answer when they need the help, as I believe this develops their thinking skills.
