About Laura
I am an Honors College student at the College of Charleston, where I study biology and neuroscience, and I also conduct research at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). My academic background gives me a strong foundation in science, and I enjoy sharing that knowledge by helping students master challenging concepts in biology, chemistry, and neuroscience. Outside of academics, I believe balance is essential for learning and growth. I love the beach, surfing, and running, and I often use these outlets to stay focused and energized. I encourage my students to find creative ways to study and learn that go beyond just sitting at a desk, whether that’s through movement, visual tools, or interactive exercises. As a tutor, I bring both professionalism and enthusiasm. I aim not only to help students succeed in their classes but also to inspire them to see science as something engaging, rewarding, and connected to the world around them.

My teaching method focuses on making complex scientific concepts in biology, chemistry, and neuroscience accessible and engaging for students of all levels, from elementary to college. I combine scientific rigor with creativity—breaking down advanced material into approachable lessons while also tailoring methods to the student’s learning style. My background in biomedical sciences allows me to connect abstract concepts to real-world applications, making the content meaningful and motivating. I am comfortable tutoring students at all levels, from elementary through college, whether they are seeking foundational science support, exam preparation, or enrichment in biology, chemistry, or neuroscience.
