About Grace

With a robust academic foundation from Hong Kong and currently pursuing a major in psychology at the University of Michigan with a consistent 4.0 GPA, I am driven to share my language skills as a Mandarin and Cantonese tutor. Through volunteer work at a Hong Kong community center and tutoring at UW-Madison's GUTS language program, I've honed my teaching abilities. Known for my perceptiveness, care, and patience, I aim to create an engaging and supportive learning environment. My study abroad experience in the United States has not only broadened my cultural perspective but also allowed me to integrate diverse cultural elements into language instruction, offering a rich and immersive learning journey for students of all backgrounds and proficiency levels.

About the lesson

Born and raised in Hong Kong, China, I bring native proficiency in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English. Currently studying abroad in Michigan, United States, my unique background allows me to understand and teach with cultural insights.

Teaching Approach:
Experience conversational and interactive learning that incorporates real-life scenarios, multimedia, and even popular culture content like TV shows. Lessons are tailored based on the student's preferences and goals.

Lesson Structure:
Flexible lessons lasting around 30 minutes to an hour. Structuring is adaptable, focusing on what the student wishes to learn the most—be it vocabulary, grammar, or conversational practice.

Milestones and Goals:
I believe in empowering students to set their own learning milestones and goals. My role is to assist and guide them in achieving these objectives.
