About Clara

I am a passionate violin tutor with 6 years of teaching and professional music experience, dedicated to helping students grow as technically skilled, confident, and expressive musicians.

I teach school and college students at all levels, from beginners learning foundational techniques to advanced learners preparing for recitals, competitions, and exams.

One of the most fulfilling milestones in my career has been seeing students transform from hesitant beginners into confident performers capable of playing with expression, emotion, and technical precision.

My teaching emphasises strong technical foundations, including posture, finger placement, bowing technique, rhythm, tone, and intonation, while also nurturing creativity, musical interpretation, and expressive performance. I integrate music theory, sight-reading, listening exercises, and performance practice to provide a comprehensive musical education.

I adapt lessons to each student’s pace, learning style, and goals, creating a supportive, patient, and motivating environment. Teaching violin allows me to inspire confidence, foster discipline, and cultivate a lifelong love for music in every student.

About the lesson

I teach violin with a methodology that emphasises motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, designed to develop musicians who are technically proficient, expressive, and confident.

Lessons are structured yet flexible, combining technical exercises with creative projects, improvisation, and performance preparation, personalised for each student.

Motivation drives engagement. I help students set achievable goals, monitor their progress, and celebrate milestones, fostering perseverance, confidence, and enthusiasm for learning. Communication ensures lessons are collaborative and interactive, providing a safe space for students to ask questions, discuss challenges, and explore ideas freely.

Creativity is integrated into every lesson. Students explore improvisation, composition, and interpretation exercises to develop their artistic voice and deepen their emotional connection to music. Integrity reinforces disciplined, responsible practice and respect for learning, cultivating habits that support long-term growth and excellence.

Alongside violin, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, and basic piano, providing students with a comprehensive and well-rounded musical education.
