About Edmund
-I teach double bass, electric bass, beginner/intermediate guitar, beginner violin, and voice.
-I have three years of fieldwork experience in classrooms working with all levels of musicians from k-12 and beyond as well as three years of private teaching experience. I have extensive experience in remote and video learning so remote learning is no problem!
-I am the currently the music director of and all male a cappella group at the university of Hartford, a bassist in the symphonic orchestra, wind ensemble, and opera/theatre pits as well as the music director for my university's chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity
-I am A 2017 graduate of GHS where I was principal bassist for the GHS symphony orchestra as well as a leading actor in the theatre division. I was also the principal bassist for the new haven youth orchestra, and CMEA southern region/all state ensembles

I base my lessons in the interests of the student first and foremost. I believe that we all learn at different paces and desire different levels of knowledge. For Beginning vocalists We learn the basics of fixed do sol-fa to increase the procedural knowledge of proper singing techniques. I also focus of the style of music that my student desires to learn rather than forcing them to sing music they don't like. For beginner instrumental students we work closely on establishing technique and playing simple tunes. Intermediate instrumentalists and vocalist dive deeper into the performance aspect of music by developing proper use of sound, time, and expression to create meaningful and impactful musical experiences that will last a lifetime.
