About Charowy
I spend most of my time listening to how people interpret rhythm and melody. I have taught 360 students over my 12 years of experience. My teaching style is quite relaxed and conversational. I try to make sure we treat the guitar as an extension of your personality rather than just a machine.
Most of my students are adults or hobbyists who want to play songs they actually recognize. I often work with self-taught players who finally want to build some structure into their playing. My approach is based on the oral tradition of learning by listening, which I think is vital for anyone wanting to get past tabs.
You might find that I pause often to explain why a certain chord change feels good. I enjoy helping people who have returned to the instrument after a long break. It keeps things fresh to work with such a diverse group of people.

Do you ever wonder why certain songs sound so much fuller than others? We start every new relationship with a free trial session to assess your starting level and goals. You will learn how to master barre chords and electric technique without feeling overwhelmed by theory.
I love breaking down improvisation and soloing into small, manageable patterns for my students.
