About Mai

Hi! I’m Mai, an international student currently studying in Australia. I’m passionate about teaching Japanese, and I love helping students build confidence step by step. I was a volunteer tutor in Japan, where I taught math to elementary and middle school students, and I also worked as an assistant at a cram school. Thanks to these experiences, I’ve learned to communicate concepts clearly and support students with patience and care. I speak native Japanese and fluent English, so I can teach both beginners and advanced learners in either language. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy studying, cooking, and discovering new places in Australia. I’m always excited to meet new students and help them reach their goals!

About the lesson

I have over two years of teaching experience as a volunteer tutor and as an assistant at a cram school in Japan
My lessons are fully personalised based on each student’s goals, learning style, and pace

If you prefer structured lessons, I can prepare clear explanations, step-by-step examples, and organised lesson materials. ️
If you prefer to solve questions together, we can work through problems in real time while I guide your thinking process.

My teaching style is flexible and adaptable:
I adjust the lesson format depending on what you want—learning new concepts, homework support, exam preparation, or strengthening weak areas!!
My goal is always to make students feel confident, supported, and comfortable asking questions.
