About Roisin
My name is Roisin, I am a student in college and I love teaching piano!
I began playing piano at the age of 4 years old and I have had 5 different piano teachers in my life, all with different methods of teaching.
With my lessons, I take different aspects of these teachings and combine them to make lessons fun and engaging, as well as getting a good handle on theory and ensuring quick progress.
I completed many exams with the RIAM receiving only distinction and honours grades.
I did music at higher level for the Leaving Cert and received the highest mark (H1).
I then went on to study Music and Spanish at Trinity College Dublin during covid but decided to take my studies in a more creative direction and am now in my third year in the National College of Art and Design.
I used to teach children piano in my home before relocating and 2 years of having my piano in storage :( Now I finally have it back and am ready to get back into teaching!

My personal approach to teaching differs to most teachers as I begin my students piano journey by teaching a mix of the basic first piano songs but also songs they are interested in learning, this helps make the lessons more enjoyable and gives them songs they can show off to their friends! I also aim to make the theory part of it more fun, with small activities.
I typically go for 30 minute lessons for the beginning. A lot can get done in that much time and it's not too overwhelming, especially for young children with short attention spans.
I have completed my exams with RIAM and studied music in Trinity as well as receiving a H1 in music in the Leaving Cert.
I have taught children from the age of 6-12 in the past, but am open to teaching beginner adults too.
