About Alfie
**I am teaching over the summer! Lessons starting from 19th July 2026 - message me to arrange**
I’ve been learning Spanish since I was 11 years old. I achieved a Grade 9 in the subject at GCSE, and have maintained Spanish practice in my routine ever since. I have visited Spain twice, most recently last year where I spent a month volunteering in a Spanish community, which allowed me to pick up a lot more Spanish. My level of Spanish is currently at B2.
As I have been learning Spanish for so many years, I have been exposed to many different language learning methods and philosophies. What I have found is making your own sentences is one of the best ways to learn a language, so that is what we will focus on in our lessons. Being able to actually use the language will give you lots of confidence when it comes to taking exams or speaking in a foreign country.

I focus on getting you speaking Spanish quickly. Speaking is often a student’s weakest skill, but it is the most important thing when it comes to using the language! I will teach you how to think in Spanish by breaking down sentences word by word, so that you understand everything about the language. We can focus on a specific topic, or a specific tense, whatever you would like to work on. Lessons are usually one hour, but I’m very flexible so we can make arrangements for whatever you need.
Our lessons will be conversational and (hopefully!) fun. We will take things slowly and constantly revisit vocabulary and tenses as we go, helping you to remember everything better.
