Hello and thanks for stopping by, I am Jools, London-based bass player. I have been playing bass for about 20 years, and in between a gig and another, I am always happy to squeeze a few lessons. I am extremely passionate about bass (and anything in the low frequency spectrum), and I am always positive about sharing my live and studio experience, going beyond the theoretical knowledge. Despite, my lessons might be ideal for beginners and intermediates, you won't only learn the basics. But I tend to focus a lot on harmony and sound. While many teachers tend to focus on harmony and sight reading solely, my main goal is to help you crafting your tone and basslines. Whether you want to play a synth pop or an Alternative Rock gig, your clean bass (despite your execution) tone just won't cut it. So, I am here to go beyond the traditional approach, helping you developing your aural perception and sound profiling abilities, alongside the foundations of this wonderful instrument. Whether I have been working with producers/Grammy winners, whether I have been playing residencies or songs requests gigs, whether I have been doing some good capacity festivals, I always heard two things: " I love your tone", " I love the how consistently and contextual are your bass parts". So, if you want to improve and tailor your bass playing, for gigging and working environments, it's for you the time to get in touch.
