About Irma
I am retired and worked in a predominantly English environment for 30 years. My sons are now adults. Our home language is Afrikaans, but I realised the importance of them becoming fully conversant in English from an early age so as to make the road for future study and feel comfortable in a work environment by being able to study, read and converse in English with confidence. I assisted primary school- going students to become confident to face the English-speaking world. However, even if you are an adult who struggles to express yourself confidently in English, there are ways to remedy this.

I can assist Afrikaans speaking students with vocabulary and grammar. My focus is on enabling students to converse comfortably in English by empowering them to master the basics of speaking English. This includes pronunciation, correct use of tenses and improving on general issues so as to be able to converse in English with confidence. Once I assisted them to improve their reading skills, conversing in English will become second nature. This applies to school children, students and even adults. Mastering the English language is paramount to enhance confidence in especially future studies, choosing a career and especially for those already in the workplace - businesses or in a private capacity.
