About Rach
Hi, I’m Rach, the tutor behind RachTutors! :) I am an Accounting and Finance graduate and former banking professional who has returned to tutoring, with a specialisation in English.
My banking background required strong writing, analytical thinking and clear communication. I also run an e-commerce business serving international customers, which has reinforced the importance of communicating precisely, building trust and avoiding misunderstandings across cultures.
My academic English results include A* for PSLE English, A1 for O-Level English and A for A-Level General Paper. I have previously tutored English and Mathematics to students preparing for the PSLE and O Levels.
Past student improvements include:
• PSLE English: AL7 to AL2
• O-Level English: C5 to A2
• PSLE Mathematics: AL6 to AL3
I currently conduct weekly online Zoom classes for Primary 3 Mathematics and Secondary 4 Intensive O-Level English.
My experience has shown me that confidence grows when students understand how to approach a question, receive patient guidance and have sufficient focused practice to apply what they have learnt independently.
Beyond improving grades, I want students to become clear and confident thinkers. A strong command of English helps them evaluate information, organise their ideas and communicate effectively—skills that will remain essential in an AI-powered and increasingly interconnected world.

RachTutors offers Singapore-syllabus tuition for:
• English: Primary 1 to Secondary 4

I currently conduct weekly online Zoom classes for Primary 3 Mathematics and Secondary 4 Intensive O-Level English.
Lessons are conducted in small groups, either online via Zoom or in person at a quiet, focused office in Textile Centre. The venue is easily accessible from Lavender and Nicoll Highway MRT stations and within walking distance of Bugis MRT. Two-hour weekday sessions are available between 4pm and 8pm.
I specialise in English, including comprehension, composition and argumentative writing, vocabulary, grammar and examination techniques.
Every lesson is adapted to the student’s current ability, school requirements and specific areas for improvement. I personally prepare worksheets and learning materials based on the concepts and skills each student needs to strengthen.
I use a multi-level drill approach to build understanding and confidence progressively. Students begin with foundation-level questions to confirm that they understand the concept, progress to intermediate application questions and then attempt more challenging exam-style questions. This ensures that they develop a strong foundation before tackling higher-level problems independently.
Students also follow a simple three-step framework:
Assess: Identify specific learning gaps through schoolwork, practice papers and discussion.
Strengthen: Address weaker areas through clear explanations, guided practice and targeted drills.
Apply: Complete exam-style questions independently, followed by detailed corrections and feedback.
Each two-hour lesson combines concept teaching, guided practice and independent work. Students receive a structured learning plan, targeted worksheets and relevant practice papers. They may also bring schoolwork or assignments that they need help understanding.
Rates start from S$20 per hour and vary according to the student’s level.
