About Torin

With 7 years of experience as a guitar tutor, I bring a strong foundation in both performance and production. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Music Theory with a Guitar Specialization, and my teaching combines the art of playing with the science of sound. I help guitarists go beyond the fretboard, diving into the fundamentals of music production, audio engineering, and home recording techniques. Whether you're layering tracks in your bedroom studio or preparing for a professional session, my approach supports you every step of the way. My students range from Early Intermediate to Advanced Intermediate levels, and I’ve also worked with Professional and Expert session players aiming to refine their recorded sound. Each session is tailored to your creative goals—whether you're building demos, working on full projects, or polishing your tone for live takes. I offer practical guidance in DAWs, recording workflows, and guitar-specific production choices. Together, we'll develop your musical voice and elevate your sound. About the lesson

My guitar teaching approach is built on versatility, creativity, and curiosity. I believe every student has their own musical voice, and I help them find it through genre exploration. From the grooves of funk to the drive of metal, the twang of country to the colors of jazz—we dive into it all. My lessons focus on adapting playing techniques to suit different styles so students can play with authenticity and confidence.

We work on both ear training and technical skills, ensuring you can switch between genres with ease. I use listening assignments, improvisation games, and play-along exercises to sharpen your understanding. I'm especially good with The Teenage Rebel, who wants to push boundaries, and The Recording Artist looking to expand their sound. I encourage you to experiment, blend influences, and shape your own tone.

We'll cover rhythm patterns, lead techniques, and genre-specific phrasing. I support students in developing a wide musical vocabulary that opens up new creative directions.
