About Reagan
I am a committed and enthusiastic guitar tutor with a Bachelor’s degree in Music and over 9 years of teaching experience. My journey with the guitar began in my early teens and quickly evolved into a deep passion for both performing and educating. Over the years, I’ve developed a teaching approach that blends musical structure with creative exploration, helping students develop both skill and confidence. My background includes training in classical, rock, blues, and pop styles, which allows me to work flexibly with students across various genres. I’ve worked with individuals of all ages, from children learning their first chords to adults returning to the instrument or taking it up for the first time. Each student brings a unique voice and set of goals, and I strive to adapt my instruction to meet their needs in a supportive and encouraging way. What sets my teaching apart is my focus on blending technical skill with personal expression. While I emphasize core skills like timing, chord structure, and scale fluency, I also encourage students to experiment, create, and connect with their own musical ideas. I aim to make every lesson not just informative but enjoyable and personally meaningful. Teaching guitar has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career. Seeing students reach breakthroughs, perform their favorite songs, or simply enjoy the process of learning is what drives me. I’m passionate about making music accessible, fulfilling, and a lasting part of my students’ lives.

Guitar lessons are crafted to support students at all stages, whether you're just picking up the instrument or aiming to refine your technique and expand your musical vocabulary. Each session balances technical development with hands-on playing, so students can see and hear progress quickly while building a solid foundation. Lessons are fully tailored to meet personal goals, interests, and preferred styles—from acoustic fingerstyle to electric soloing.
A major focus is placed on mastering rhythm and timing, as these are key to playing confidently with others or solo. Students will explore strumming patterns, picking techniques, and how to stay in sync with a beat, using real songs to put concepts into practice. As they progress, they’ll also learn to read chord charts, tablature, and basic music theory to understand what they’re playing and why it works.
Scale work and fretboard navigation are introduced gradually to unlock soloing and improvisation skills. Students learn how to move freely across the neck, connect patterns, and play expressively within different musical contexts. These skills are essential for those interested in composing, jamming, or simply playing with more freedom and flair.
With 9 years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Music, I aim to create a learning space that’s fun, encouraging, and progress-driven. I support students in setting meaningful goals and achieving them at their own pace, while maintaining strong fundamentals.
