About Courtney

Hi, I’m Courtney! I’m a passionate and approachable tutor with several years of experience working with students from primary school through to VCE. I hold a Bachelor of Science majoring in Neuroscience, and I’ve spent the past few years combining my academic background with my love of teaching to help students build confidence and achieve their goals. Alongside my tutoring, I’ve worked as a nanny for over four years, supporting young children with their learning in English, math, and science. This experience has given me a strong foundation in communication, patience, and adaptability—qualities I bring to every tutoring session. I’ve also supported VCE students in subjects like Health and Human Development (in which I received a study score of 46) and Further Math (42), helping them to break down complex concepts, prepare for assessments, and feel more confident in their studies. I take pride in creating a calm, supportive learning environment where students feel safe to ask questions and make mistakes. About the lesson

I take a calm, encouraging, and personalized approach to tutoring. With several years of experience both nannying and tutoring, I understand how to connect with students of all ages and tailor my teaching to suit individual learning styles. Whether we’re building confidence in the basics or tackling more advanced content, I aim to create a supportive space where students feel comfortable to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow. My lessons are typically 60 minutes long, though I’m happy to adjust this based on age, attention span, and learning goals. I incorporate a mix of clear explanations, step-by-step breakdowns, interactive examples, and practice problems to help students not only understand the material, but also enjoy learning it. I have been nannying for over four years and have extensive experience supporting young children with English, math, and science homework and foundational skills. I’ve also tutored VCE students in Health and Human Development (in which I received a study score of 46) and Further Math (42), helping them gain confidence and improve their results. My lessons are best suited for primary school students through to VCE students, particularly those looking for guidance in English, math, science (biology and chemistry), Further Math, and Health and Human Development.
