About Gabby

I have a bachelor's degree in primary education and am currently completing additional studies to support diverse learning needs. I have taught all primary grades across both private and state education systems. I have completed additional training to become a lead phonics teacher and a lead early literacy support in the school.
I have taught in both Australia and the UK, developing a very in-depth understanding of the curriculum.

About the lesson

I aim to create engaging and interactive lessons that actively involve students in their learning. My sessions often incorporate learning games and collaborative activities, making each lesson enjoyable while maintaining a strong focus on meaningful progress. I believe that students learn best when they feel motivated, supported, and genuinely interested in what they are doing.
My primary goal is to help students develop a clear understanding of what they are learning, and then build their confidence in applying these skills across a variety of contexts. By focusing on both knowledge and confidence, I support learners in becoming more independent and resilient in their approach to challenges. I also have experience with a range of SEND, such as Autism, ADHD and Behavioural and Emotional difficulties. Furthermore, I enjoy successfully providing support for the 7+, 8+, 10+, 11+.
Each lesson follows a structured yet flexible approach. I begin with an introductory activity to assess prior knowledge and identify any gaps in understanding. This is followed by focused teaching and carefully designed activities that support the development of the key skill for that session. Finally, students complete a consolidation task to demonstrate their understanding independently.
Throughout the lesson, I encourage students to express themselves confidently and openly. This allows me to tailor my teaching to their individual needs, ensuring each student feels supported, challenged, and capable of success. I also place strong emphasis on positive reinforcement, helping students to recognise their progress and build a growth mindset.
