About Skylar
"Aspiring performers often need practical guidance to handle lead guitar and complex improvisation. I have supported 388 students throughout my 13 years of experience.
My Bachelor of Music in Popular Music from Queensland Conservatorium underpins everything I teach. I focus on technical skills like barre chords, acoustic technique, and reading sheet music.
Ear training and grade exam prep are also available for those interested. Dealing with tuning and maintenance is just part of the job. It feels right."

"Starting out feels a bit like trying to find the right chord shape in the dark. I break down your favorite song requests into simplified arrangements that make sense immediately. My 10.0 minute warm-ups focus on fluidity. You will gain control over soloing and improvisation quickly.
I teach from my perspective as a performing songwriter. We focus on technique that works under stage lights.
My background ensures you understand the fretboard. It is genuinely fun to see arrangements click into place. Everything gets easier with regular practice. You might even find your own voice on the instrument."
