About Whitney
Tight, tense shoulders often ruin an otherwise perfect performance. I address this immediately by refining your bowing technique and left hand agility. We will systematically explore shifting positions, scales, and arpeggios to improve your dexterity.
Double stops and vibrato are introduced as you grow in ability. I provide comprehensive support for ABRSM and Trinity grade exam prep.
My lessons are designed to turn sight reading into an intuitive skill rather than a chore. Whether you are a teen performer or a beginner, my Humber College training ensures structural clarity. Have you ever wondered what it takes to perform with true confidence? I hold a Bachelor of Music from Humber College and have earned my RCM Grade 10 certification. Over the last 8 years, I have taught violin to hobbyists, beginners, and teens preparing for high-stakes auditions.
My primary training occurred at Schulich, which shapes how I approach every student. I balance rigorous technical standards with the warm, expressive needs of a performer.
It is common for me to work with those returning to the instrument after a long break. My 8 years in the field have taught me exactly how to build a solid foundation. I look forward to helping you reach your specific musical goals.
