About Alice
Languages have always been my passion. Having attended an all-Irish speaking primary school, and now currently living in France for my Erasmus, I am confidently trilingual and wish to help you, my future students, to not only succeed in your language learning journey, but thrive in the culture which surrounds it! I am going into my final year of a Bachelor of Education in Gaeilge and French and have three years' experience giving adolescents language lessons in the Irish second-level context (junior and leaving certificates). I have also received two scholarships to a Belgian university where I participated in a summer course for teaching French as a foreign language. I hope to bring you on a journey, to learn a language, to explore a new culture, to open doors to new friendships and new possibilities!

As a trilingual BEd in Gaeilge and French student with over three years' experience giving private language lessons, I believe that improvement in a language stems from a love of the culture that surrounds it and using the language in a practical way. That is why I combine a mixture of communicative language teaching, task-based language teaching and the post-method perspective which allows for an approach to language learning that focuses on real practical uses of the language and fosters a deeper understanding of the culture. I like to place a special focus on oral interaction and listening and reading for enjoyment using authentic sources from the real world (Spotify, Netflix, YouTube, etc.). This modern approach fosters lifelong learning and a love of language and culture. Lessons can be 30-60 minutes depending on your personal preference, because every language learner is different! Lessons are created and adapted for the students based on age, motivation and background.
