About Claire
I recently graduated from university with a Bachelor of Education. I specialized in English and Reading. I have tutored children person and online in the past. I recognize the challenges emergent readers face. I have spent many hours in primary classrooms, as a volunteer, as an intern, and as substitute teacher.

Lessons focus on teaching emergent readers phonetic rules, such as digraphs and vowel rules. We will focus on strategies that enable decoding and fluency when reading. As students develop decoding strategies, we will begin to think beyond the text to develop comprehension and a deeper understanding of what the text is telling us. Lessons will be catered to individual needs. My strengths lie in helping beginning readers, young, old and ESL students.
