Gloria is an excellent teacher. As a career technical trainer, I have a very good feel for the quality of an instructor. Gloria does some great things in the classroom: she tries to keep everyone on the same page while only using Spanish. By adding some visuals, like hand gestures, she can explain grammar, all in Spanish, and most people can get it. One of her greatest skills as a teacher is that she can tell where each individual student is and adjusts her explanations accordingly as needed. She is excellent at figuring out how high she can raise the bar on each student without overwhelming them. From my experience teaching I know it is important for people to be comfortable in a setting where they can easily embarrass themselves. Gloria is very good at keeping that delicate balance between pushing the class forward without leaving people behind.

Gloria is a fantastic teacher! She meets me at a time that works for me at my home and tailors the lesson plans to my abilities. I love that her style is conversational and the subjects we speak about are relevant to real life. She's extremely responsive about scheduling changes and questions throughout the week. It's been a pleasure getting to know her and learn from her. I feel lucky I found her—she's a very important part of my week.

Gloria's method of teaching is both simple and easy to process. She customized her approach specifically to my needs to maximize my take-away. Every week Gloria prepared a slide presentation that was tailored to our lesson, she would then send those slides to me after the class to study and assist in my progression. Gloria met me at work once a week, which for someone who is busy was very convenient. All around I have had a great experience and recommend Gloria for any level of teaching Spanish.

Gloria is outstanding! She is a phenomenal teacher, who is not only fluent in Spanish, but also in English. This is important because she has taught both Spanish and English to language students. The level 4 class was in 98% Spanish. Gloria's deep understanding of the syntax of both languages enabled her to explain ‘the why´ certain rules pertained to Spanish and not to English. I live in South Texas and I speak Spanish daily. I joined Berges to improve my colloquial Spanish. Because I communicate in Spanish daily, it is often more challenging to break my old habits, especially since they have been successful in the past Gloria’s mastery of Spanish and English grammar is essential in helping me improve my Spanish. She is patient, yet firm. She knows her stuff, so my challenging questions don't bother her. I had a difficult time grasping pronouns for direct and indirect objects- Gloria went above and beyond, by providing additional exercises for me and my fellow classmates. I am grateful for her willingness to answer all of my ´why´ questions. There are times when I still don't agree, however Gloria has the explanation, with the rule and the example, to support her point of view. I don't this this would be possible without her background.

I just finished level 5 with Gloria and I'm SO grateful for my experience! Gloria is such an amazing teacher and would highly recommend to anyone - she's patient, kind, organized, prepared, and gives really great explanations. Her classes are almost 100% in Spanish and even if something isn't clear, she finds a way to break it down to make you can understand it. She is passionate about teaching and it really shows. She also takes to the time to get to know every student which we all really appreciated. I look forward to more classes with Gloria.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my Spanish lessons with Gloria. She is well organized and structured in her approach to teaching which is so helpful especially when you are a beginner and trying to grasp the basics. Each lesson has been uniquely customized to my level and progress. Gloria is extremely patient and finds ways to keep the lessons fun and interesting while at the same time making them challenging enough to enable you to progress. Gloria is an excellent teacher and I can’t recommend her enough!

Gloria is an amazing person and an amazing tutor. She is so accommodating and will establish a study plan that meets your personal and work needs. I wanted to be able to speak to my patients in Spanish, she went out of her way to develop dialogue that I could use at work and even created scenarios using pictures of broken bones being that I work in orthopedics. I cannot recommend her enough!
