About Ramona

Hello! My name is Ramona and I'm a huge nerd (• ֎ •) I love everything from tardigrades to pulsars. I'm a motivated and passionate aspiring educator ready to help with any sciencey inquiries of yours! I am a second year Bachelor's Biology student with Biology internship experience, though my especiality is biochemistry & botanical chemistry, genetics, and anatomy & physiology. I look forward to connecting and seeing how I can help!

About the lesson

In my teaching, I emphasize the overall ideas of the life sciences within the minutae of each subject. I take an integrated lecture/interactive style of teaching, allowing for engagement with enough direct exposure to the material. My goal for individuals is to gain proficiency to the level where they are able to assist others in subject material.

Depending on your needs, my lessons/sessions are flexible. For learning subject material in a teaching-based setting, I do full school-style presentations of varying length. My lessons typically consist of a presentation portion, a (group) activity, and a worksheet or individual task along with time to ask questions. I am also able to assign homework should that be of interest. My tutoring sessions can consist of work/worksheets provided by me, provided by their school (classwork/homework help), question/answer sessions, and whatever else you may need.

I have a enthusiastic and lasting passion for Biology and every subject within it. I have worked privately with several teachers in independent studies and interned for six months with Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, work that built more thorough expertise than the average Biology student. I am also dedicated to pedagogy and am working towards becoming a lisenced educator. With my knowledge and attention to your needs, I am able to support you in any academic challenges you may be having.

My lessons are for everyone in primary or secondary school. My official level of expertise is second-year Bachelor's Biology major, so anything up to that are subjects and topics I can cover.
