About Erica
I have a 4-year college degree in both Elementary Education and Spanish Education. During that time, I had the wonderful opportunity to study abroad in Spain for 6 months. I lived with a host family there and was fully immersed in the Spanish Culture. During one of my last semesters in school, I had a practicum placement in a second grade Spanish Dual Immersion classroom where I taught grammar lessons, science lessons, and social studies lessons all in Spanish. My last semester of college, I student taught high school Spanish 3 and 4. I have also been OPI (Oral Language Proficiency Indicator) tested in order to be licensed to teach Spanish.

I am a TPRS experienced Instructor, which means that I value teaching a foreign language through reading and storytelling. I have recently graduated with my bachelor's in Elementary and Spanish Education and have had a student teaching experience in teaching high school Spanish 3 and 4 and have also had a practicum placement teaching Elementary Spanish Dual Immersion students. I have developed my own Spanish Unit on Weather and types of clothing in Spanish which includes a variety of total physical response actions to aid in vocabulary comprehension, listening activities, and whole class interactive stories. Getting to know my students is important to me and developing my lessons to cater to my students' needs and content that they can make personal connections to is my goal.
