About Jaime
"I have 6 years of experience teaching guitar and helping students develop their skills as complete musicians. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Music Theory with a specialization in Guitar, which has strengthened my understanding of music, sound, and creative expression. My teaching combines technical guitar skills with modern production knowledge.
I focus on music production fundamentals, audio engineering for guitarists, and home recording techniques. I teach tone shaping, effects pedals, basic mixing, and microphone placement to help students create professional sounding recordings. I believe well-rounded musicianship comes from understanding both playing and the technology behind the sound.
I have helped students from Early Intermediate to Advanced Intermediate levels, as well as Professional and Expert session players looking to improve their recording skills. I remember helping a guitarist improve their home recordings by adjusting microphone placement and refining their tone, which made their performances sound much clearer. These improvements can make a big difference in a musician's confidence.
My lessons are designed to help students explore their creativity while building practical skills for modern music. "My teaching approach focuses on helping guitarists understand their instrument beyond playing notes and chords. Lessons include guitar maintenance, string changing, basic setup, guitar electronics, effects pedals, and tone shaping. I believe knowing how your instrument works helps you become a more confident and creative musician.
I teach practical skills that every guitarist can use to maintain their gear and improve their sound. For example, we may learn how to change strings correctly, adjust basic settings, and explore how different pedals affect tone. These skills help students feel more connected to their instrument.
I also explain how pickups, cables, amplifiers, and effects work together to create different sounds. Students learn how to build useful tones for practice, performances, and recording situations. Each lesson is designed to match the student's goals and musical style.
My goal is to help guitarists take better care of their instruments while developing their own sound. I support students in becoming more independent with their gear and confident with their choices. With the right knowledge and practice, you can master your gear and sound."
