Award-winning language tutor, qualified teacher and native Mandarin speaker teaching Chinese for casual learning and exam preparation (GCSE, A-Level, HSK & YCT)

My daughter has been having weekly lessons with Jun to prepare for her Mandarin GCSE. Jun is very encouraging and good at explaining. Each lesson is well organised, with a theme and homework. Jun has a good understanding of the GCSE curriculum and provides advice on how to prepare for exams. My daughter has benefited a lot from her lessons with Jun and is more confident in speaking and writing.

Jun helped me with my GCSE Chinese exam preparation a couple of years ago. I was really impressed by her dedication and professionalism. She tailored the lessons to exactly what I needed and led to me improving my final mark from what I was initially predicted. Would highly recommend her if you are looking for a Chinese tutor.

I have had the pleasure of working with Jun as my HSK Chinese tutor for the past six months, during which time she has supported me in learning Mandarin from a complete beginner level.

Over this period, we have developed a strong and enjoyable working relationship through our weekly lessons.

Jun is patient, kind, and incredibly supportive. She combines deep knowledge of the Chinese language with a structured and thoughtful teaching approach, ensuring that each lesson is pitched at exactly the right level and pace for me.

At the same time, she is always flexible in her teaching, allowing space for my many questions and helping me build a deeper understanding beyond the core lesson material. Her ability to explain both linguistic concepts and cultural context has been particularly valuable, especially when navigating the differences between English and Chinese language and culture.
One experience that stands out is how Jun has guided me from having no prior knowledge of Mandarin to now being able to speak basic phrases and write Chinese characters with growing confidence, something that has really benefitted me on recent trips to China.

I also greatly appreciate her reliability and flexibility despite having a fixed weekly slot, she has always been accommodating when I’ve needed to rearrange at short notice.

Jun also brings a great sense of humour to our lessons, which makes learning enjoyable and something I genuinely look forward to each week.

I would highly recommend Jun to anyone looking to learn Mandarin, whether as a complete beginner or at a more advanced level. She is not only an excellent teacher but also someone who genuinely cares about her students’ progress and confidence.
