I'm Monica-Martine, a nationally recognized speech and debate competitor, mentor, and incoming University of Richmond student passionate about helping students grow into confident readers, writers, and communicators. I understand that every student learns differently, so I create a supportive, encouraging environment where questions are welcomed and progress is celebrated. My teaching method and techniques: I personalize every lesson to match each student's learning style, goals, and pace. My approach is interactive, encouraging students to ask questions, think critically, and build confidence while improving their reading, writing, literacy, and communication skills.
A typical lesson plan: Each session begins with a quick review of previous material, followed by a focused lesson on a new concept. Students then practice through reading passages, writing exercises, speech activities, or guided discussions. Every lesson ends with personalized feedback, goal setting, and strategies for continued improvement.
What sets me apart: As a nationally recognized speech and debate competitor and experienced mentor, I help students develop more than academic skills. I teach them how to communicate clearly, think critically, and express themselves with confidence in the classroom and beyond.
Who my lessons are for: My lessons are designed for elementary, middle school, and high school students looking to strengthen their English, reading, literacy, writing, public speaking, or speech and debate skills.
