About Olivia
Hi there! I am an art tutor and visual artist who loves everything about connecting with cool people around the world, and welcoming those who are curious about beautiful art (maybe even making a living from it!)
I speak French fluently, and I have been speaking Japanese for six years. I have been teaching languages for over a year now, and in love with the impact that a skill can do for someone's quality of life. Therefore, I created an open space for expression in my art classes and personalized one-to-one experience for my students.
I believe firmly that art is not just for "the gifted few", and that everyone has the potential to create beautiful things and a life worth living. Despite winning awards from art competitions back in my high school days (ArtEast prize; Prix Eugène-Racette in Ottawa), there was a time when I put so much pressure that I lost my "spark". On top of that, I dreamed about creating my very own art business, but had nowhere to go and ask for help.
Using this platform, I dedicate myself to help you, my very cool student, my techniques that I used for my best pieces. Not only will you learn my "secrets", I can assist you into making money with your art is you wish to do so (or keep it private, that's cool too!)
My current projects is building a playable card deck and creating cool new prints!
In most intro's, people mention their pets at the end. I don't have one in my life right now, but if I did, it would be a cat named Günther. And if you need an ice-breaker, ask me about my time living in Japan!

Time for you to level up in your artistic journey!
For those of you who are beginning and don't know where to start, or for the seasoned artist in need of guidance, I am here to help!
Sometimes we need a second opinion with a piece for our next exhibition, or help understanding a techniques. I also help students rekindle with art after a long hiatus, and need to break down some creative blocks.
I can teach these mediums below:
Graphite pencil
Markers
Pastel
Charcoal
Mixed medium
Coloured pencil
Basics in proportions, shading, etc.
Drawing cartoons and characters
There are no set lesson plans as this is totally customized to the student's needs. Please feel free to send me a short message containing what you expect from me in my lessons.
I intend to tutor art as a means for personnel use, and extensively for business or aid for school grades.
I am currently an online language teacher, and comfortable with teaching a wide range of students from youth (12 +) and adults alike. I enjoy very much teaching over the past year, and will apply my knowledge to teaching art :)
