About Magnus
I discovered my passion for photography at an early age. Growing up in Iceland, I bought my first SLR camera at age 12. Just a year later, one of my black-and-white photos won me a year’s supply of Ilford photo paper and chemicals.
Over the years, my medium evolved from black-and-white film to color slides, and eventually into the digital world. Yet my core philosophy has never wavered: Shoot what you see. Focus on composition, wit, and raw beauty. Treat your subject with honesty, allowing the image to speak for itself without forcing it to fit a contrived narrative or political statement.
Photography is truly my way of life. I'm now on year 10 of a photo-a-day project. Carrying a camera everywhere and editing my work every single evening keeps my mind permanently tuned to visual opportunities. The world is endlessly inspiring if you know how to look, and I will help you train your eye to find those everyday masterpieces.

Whether you are picking up a camera for the first time or want to break out of a creative rut, my first priority is to clarify your goals. Then we can explore:
* Mastering Your Eye: Learn how to find compelling street, travel, or fine-art compositions in any environment
* Mastering Your Visual Voice: Decide how you want your photos to look
* Mastering Your Tools: Become proficient with your camera (or phone-camera) and your editing software
* Photographing People: Navigate the specifics of portraiture, self-portraiture, and working with models or theater/dance performers
* The Daily Practice: How to build a consistent shooting and editing habit (inspired by my 10-year project)
* Critique & Curation: Become ruthless in selecting your best work, and learn how to sequence images for exhibition or publication
