About Catherine
I am a freelance writer, author, and stay-at-home mom in Dallas, TX with over 5 years of writing experience. I have my BA in Journalism-- graduating with Highest Honors (above a 3.98)-- and obtained my Master of Science in Management last year. I hold two national award titles for a piece I wrote about trafficking in Northwest Arkansas. After finding out I was pregnant, I began tutoring K-12 students in English. Since then, I've expanded my clientele, even teaching 40-year-old parents how to write! I love imparting my passion for reading and writing with my students, and would love the opportunity to work with you to accomplish your dreams!

While I love writing and academia, I believe the key to successful tutoring comes from building a relationship with each student, focusing specifically on his/her needs that are unique and different from anyone else. I cater my tutoring to each student, getting to the root of what sort of help they best need from me in their English endeavors. Whether that's reviewing parts of speech, sharpening college essay entries, creating sentence variation in openers, or strengthening reading comprehension, I am there every step of the way to help them feel comfortable and confident in reading and writing. I work best with middle school through post-college individuals, but I both have worked and am happy to help with any age group.
