About Janine
Hi! I am Janine and I am currently a graduate student at UT Austin studying Electrical and Computer Engineering--yes, I am a student too :)
I am passionate about continuous learning and that is why I have been working as a K-12 math, science, and test prep tutor for over 10 years alongside my own schooling. I also have worked as an engineer for 2+ years, so I have hands-on knowledge of how the math and science you are learning in school is used in the real world.
I hope to connect with my students on a personal level and find common ground. I have a wide array of personal interests, ranging from sports to books to crafting to music, so I think we can find things to talk about other than just homework :)

I believe in making sure that my students deeply understand the material they are learning, not just how to answer for the exam. I want my students to not only learn the academic skills, but also how to ask good questions and keep the curiosity alive in all stages of their education.
I know sometimes lessons can be daunting, but I truly believe every student is capable of doing harder math than they believe they can and all it takes is someone who is willing to spend time breaking it down to its simplest form. I encourage my students to ask as many questions as they want, no matter how silly they may think it is, so that we can be sure there is full understanding at the end.
